I’m Andrew Jon Murdoch, currently living in Dundee, Scotland, and working as a freelance games programmer & designer. I’m a Computer Games Technology graduate from Abertay University, with over five years working in the UK’s game development industry.

Prior beginning work as an independent freelancer I worked as a gameplay programmer for a number of Dundee based studios, including Pocket Sized Hands and Astrodreamer, desinging and implementing core gameplay mechanics on in-house IP, and working with clients on out-of-studio projects. Before any game development work I was employed by Abertay University as a Research Assistant to the Psychology Dept., deployed as a web-app developer for Human Resources Intelligence, creating innovative AI solutions to HR problems. During my time at university I led a team of developers in the Dare Academy 2019 game development competition where we claimed two prizes for our efforts on Spellcasters, a unique rhythm-based combat party game.

In my spare time I love to be involved in art and music. I play bass guitar and create artwork for my bands, Gossiper, SHAM MARRIAGE, and CICADA SPRINGS - I’m passionate about DIY music and for years I have been writing, recording, and performing music in and around Scotland. I often undertake commissions for logos, album covers, or merchandise for other artists.
