Spellcasters is a game prototype that I designed, programmed gameplay for, and worked as primary artist on. I began developing Spellcasters at the start of my fourth year of university, where I was able to recruit a team and take the game to Abertay's Dare Academy. We went on to win Dare Academy and present Spellcasters at EGX 2019. Spellcasters was developed with the Unity engine.

Spellcasters is a rhythm-based couch competitive magic brawler, pairing traditional fighting game combos with a beat based spell casting system. A prototype is available at itch.io.

Development of Spellcasters has continued slowly while I’ve worked on professional projects, but it has continued. I’ve redesigned and reanimated the player characters, and have completely rewritten the physics system, based upon the physics system implemented in Tower Fall & Celeste described by Maddy Thorson.
